Sweet and Simple Apple Crisp

What’s in an Apple Crisp?

If you have apples on hand, you likely have everything else you will need to make a delicious apple crisp. Apples, lemon, sugar, flour, butter and cinnamon are all you need. I would also add ice cream to that list. There is nothing better than some vanilla ice cream topped with warm apple crisp. Yum!

Red or Green Apple?

In short, either one, although I wouldn’t recommend a soft apple like a Red Delicious. When baked, they will not hold up. I like red apples that are firm, sweet, and like honey crisp. However, you can adjust the sugar to make up for the less sweetness of a more sour or tart green apple if you have that on hand.
